Similar to a holter monitor, an event monitor is a recording device that records your heart rate and rhythm. This type of monitor may be worn for an extended period of time (up to one month). You may also be asked to only "activate" the monitor when you feel something abnormal is happening with your heart. An event monitor is only three EKG electrodes and wires, and again, is painless, and does not limit your usual routine or activities in any way.
